So who are we? We are Southends only PC based Cyber Gaming Centre located at 827 Southchurch Road, SS1 2PP.

• 80's Theme (dark walls with neon and UV lights to give it an authentic feel)

• Most Importantly, a safe and friendly environment for all ages

Hey guys and gals,

​

We are still here, planning away for the Cyber Cafe to become a... Reality... We are looking for a sizable unit, unfortunately not many decent sizes available in Shoeburyness, which is a shame as we were initially aiming to set up here. Fear not, there are a few good sized units in Southchurch, which would be ideal.

​

It came to our attention during and shortly after Covid that gamers throughout the UK are looking for places to congregate to socialise and show off their gaming skills. Southend use to have at least 4 Internet Cafes dotted throughout the city until 2006ish when they all disappeared due to gaming being taken to peoples bedrooms instead. This has changed a lot since 2019/2020 due to Covid where people of all ages that are gamers want to socialise within their own demographic, this is where we come in with the following...

Plans so far are:

​

• 12x High Spec PCs each having their own desk, headphones and curved screen monitors

• VR Zones

• 80's Theme (dark walls with neon and UV lights throughout)

• Comfortable seating area for board-games or chill-out area for socialising

• Some Arcade Machines

• Trading card sales, trade and play area (including Pokémon)

• Streaming booths for streaming games/applications

• Food and drinks available for purchase

• Tournaments and Ladders

• Eye watering internet speeds

• Safe and friendly environment for all ages

• Short, practical courses for the elderly or out of work

What have we done so far?

​

• We have written out an extensive business plan

• Created and updated social media and our website

• Purchased roguesasylum.com URL (One of the old Internet Cafe URLs in Southend)

• Drawn up floor plans which will be shared soon

• Identified suitable locations (Shoeburyness or Southchurch Road)

​

This is just touching on what we really want to provide to our community as a whole as we understand the need for somewhere for gamers to socialise!
